The Allpoint surcharge-free ATM network has signed a deal with New Jersey's largest credit union, the $1.3 billion-asset Affinity Federal Credit Union. As part of the deal, Affinity's 116,000 debit cardholders will have surcharge-free access to 905 ATMs throughout New Jersey, according to a joint announcement. Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed. But Allpoint generally provides surcharge-free access to off-premise ATMs connected to its network on behalf of card issuers who pay Allpoint a fee based on the size of an issuer's portfolio. Pete MacDonald, vice president and member services officer for Affinity, said the deal with Allpoint provides the credit union's cardholders convenient surcharge-free access to ATMs near where cardholders work and live. Some of the new ATM locations for credit union cardholders include at Target stores, at Costco stores and at Sunoco service stations. Allpoint has surcharge-free access to about 35,000 ATMs in the U.S.
