BETHESDA, Md. (06/16/05) — Allpoint ATM network said a recent deal with
mid-Atlantic states credit union league has paid off big, helping the
surcharge-free network to double it's credit union membership over the past
year to about 100, and 200 financial institutions overall. "We've had 30
credit unions signed this month, alone, the bulk of them in the three
states," Ben Psillas, president of ATM National, the owner of Allpoint, told
The Credit Union Journal, of the recent deal with state leagues in
Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. And the company is preparing to welcome
two billion-dollar credit unions to the system: Delta Employees CU, Atlanta,
and Hudson Valley FCU, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., joining such other billion-dollar
credit unions as Eastman CU, State Employees CU of Maryland, IBM Southeast
Employees FCU and Pentagon FCU, in the network. Allpoint offers access to
more than 35,000 ATMs nationwide, most of them in retail locations.
