Leading Payroll and Prepaid Customers Sign Up for Surcharge-Free Access at 25,000 ATMs Nationwide
Bethesda, MD, September 10, 2003 — Allpoint, America's largest surcharge-free ATM network, today announced that it has signed leading payroll and prepaid debit customers, including Citicorp EFS, Money Network, iWire, Inc. and NetSpend Corporation. Allpoint also announced that it has added more than 1,000 ATMs to its network, including ATMs conveniently located in high-profile national and regional retailers across the United States.
"With millions of customers spread across the country, payroll and prepaid debit card issuers are a natural fit for Allpoint," said Ben Psillas, President of Allpoint. "Allpoint's 25,000 ATMs coast-to-coast provide payroll and prepaid debit card issuers with broad and dense coverage and the ability to significantly expand their business nationwide. Allpoint also helps its payroll card issuers address the compliance requirements of employers, while at the same time, providing their cardholders with national surcharge-free access," Psillas added.
"Joining with Allpoint helps make our payroll card a more convenient and inexpensive solution for employees nationally," said Mark MacKenzie, President of Citicorp EFS. "The payroll card itself is a win-win solution for both employers and employees," he added. "Citicorp EFS technology, customer support and expertise helps employers to automate their payroll process, reducing costs, while employees get safer, easier access to their pay."
"We strive to empower our cardholders and continuously improve our product offering with a critical eye on delivering added value," said Roy Sosa, President and Co-Founder of NetSpend Corporation. "As the name of our flagship product‹the All-Access Prepaid MasterCard‹implies, our partnership with Allpoint delivers broad ATM access where our cardholders need it most: near home, work, travel, and play, and most importantly, without extra surcharges. The card truly embodies 'all-access' and our valued partnership with Allpoint is a clear reflection of that promise."
"Allpoint provides unprecedented coverage and convenience to users of the Money Network PayCard program" said Mark Putman, Chairman of Money Network. "The unique, vertically integrated solution associated with Money Network provides employers and users the most convenient and economical solution available".
Allpoint also announced that it has added more than 1,000 ATMs to its network, bringing its total now to over 25,000 nationwide. The additional ATMs are the result of the recent acquisition of ATMs from American Express by Cardtronics, one of Allpoint's partners.
Allpoint was launched in April 2003 to provide financial institutions having limited ATM presence with the tools to compete more effectively for customers. Participation in Allpoint offers card issuers access to a nationwide physical distribution channel at a fraction of the cost of building and maintaining their own network. Unlike other shared surcharge-free networks, Allpoint members join as card issuers only. E*Trade and Cardtronics, two of the nation's largest ATM owners and operators, contribute their more than 25,000 ATMs to the network.
The newest members join a list of other notable Allpoint payroll card customers including Skylight Financial and FSV Payment Systems, plus leading credit unions such as Pentagon Federal Credit Union (VA), and SEFCU (NY).
