Disaster Recovery Plan
 

Chances are your institution has a disaster recovery plan. We encourage you to put the vast ATM access you have through your membership with Allpoint to use by including it in your plan. In the event of an emergency closing of a branch, you can provide your cardholders with multiple alternate access points to their accounts via Allpoint ATMs.

Connex Credit Union

Connex CU experienced a branch fire at one of their locations December of last year. One of the first steps they took was to send out a letter to cardholders regarding building a temporary branch. The letter included the following information:


The temporary branch does not include an ATM, but there are surcharge free ATMs at our other branches as well as Allpoint fee-free ATMs at the following Hamden locations:

Texas Dow Employees Credit Union

Texas Dow Employees Credit Union has two flyers that include their ATM access (through Allpoint) as part of their plan to get their cardholders through disasters such as hurricanes in their areas.





As you can see, Allpoint played a critical role in keeping their members connected. Access to alternate ATMs prevented cardholders from banking at another institution, thus reducing attrition and increasing confidence. Your cardholders will appreciate and respect you for thinking about their needs and being sure they are able to access their cash regardless of the circumstances. Your cardholders will feel that you feel they are important because you took the time to prepare.
